Anti-quota protesters have announced the continuation of their nationwide “Bangla Blockade” program until their demands are addressed.

Nahid Islam, a frontliner of the anti-quota movement, made the announcement at Dhaka’s Shahbagh intersection, wrapping up today’s blockade at approximately 7:55 pm.
“After a long meeting with law enforcement agencies, we have decided that our movement will continue,” said Hasnat Abdullah, another protester. “We will remain on the highways until our demand is met: the abolition of all discriminatory and illogical quota systems in the government job recruitment process.”
Protesters have blocked major highways in Dhaka and other cities in solidarity with the ongoing movement. In Dhaka, key intersections including Science Lab, Nilkhet, New Market, Bakshibazar, Shahbagh, Paribagh, Bangla Motor, and Kawran Bazar were obstructed, causing traffic to come to a standstill, reports UNB.
The blockade spanned from 2:30 pm to 8:00 pm, paralyzing Dhaka’s traffic flow and highlighting the protesters’ determination to press on until their demands are fulfilled.
