Clashes have broken out between students of Dhaka University and police in the Mallchattar area of the university.

The clashes began around 4:30 pm Wednesday.
Students demonstrating for quota reform offered gaybeana janaza on Dhaka University (DU) campus for those killed in the protests against quota system on Tuesday afternoon, reports UNB.
After the prayers, when the students marched towards the Raju sculpture with a symbolic coffin police lobbed tear shells and fired rubber bullets on them, triggering a clash, reports our photographer from the spot.
Students were seen throwing brickbats in response to sound grenades and tear gas by the police.
The students took position in front of Masterda Surya Sen Hall. A large number of police have taken position near the VC's residence.
