Maritime Affairs Secretary Khurshed Alam
Throughout his tenure, Alam played a pivotal role in representing Bangladesh on significant international maritime issues. Notably, he was the country’s representative in the Dispute concerning the Delimitation of the Maritime Boundary with Myanmar at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Germany. He also served as Bangladesh's delegate in the Bay of Bengal Maritime Boundary Arbitration with India at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.
Alam's resignation marks the end of a distinguished chapter in Bangladesh's maritime diplomacy, during which he contributed significantly to the nation’s interests in international waters.
