Dr Kamal tells reform commission to make constitution contemporary

Dhaka, Nov 02 - Constitutional expert Dr. Kamal Hossain, acknowledged as the architect of the country's 1972 constitution, has called on the Constitution Reform Commission to modernize the nation's constitution.

He made this recommendation during a meeting with commission members at his office in the capital’s Motijheel on Saturday.

The delegation, led by Professor Ali Riaz, the head of the commission, discussed the process of constitutional reform.

Dr. Hossain welcomed the members and expressed confidence in their efforts, highlighting the need to adapt the constitution to meet contemporary challenges.

Commission members Professor Sumaiya Khair, Barrister Imran Siddique, Professor Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister M Moin Alam Ferozi, Firoz Ahmed, and Md Mustain Billah were also present.

Dr. Kamal Hossain was the head of the 1972 Constitution Drafting Committee.-UNB
