Adviser stresses small-scale, impactful projects at SOF meeting

Dhaka, Dec 03 - Post, Telecommunications, and ICT Adviser Md. Nahid Islam emphasized the need for small, effective projects that can be completed within the interim government's tenure to ensure equitable benefits for all.

Speaking as chief guest at the 24th meeting of the Social Obligation Fund (SOF) Management Committee held on Monday at the BTRC office at Agargaon, the Adviser said, “Instead of pursuing large-scale projects, we should focus on smaller initiatives that can be completed efficiently and deliver immediate results to underserved communities.”

The meeting discussed ongoing and implemented projects under the SOF, with Nahid urging project directors to prioritize efforts that directly benefit the public within a shorter timeframe.

The Social Obligation Fund (SOF), governed by the 2021 regulations, aims to expand telecommunication and ICT access to marginalized populations in Bangladesh.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Post and Telecommunications Division, and Major General Md. Emdad Ul Bari, Chairman of BTRC.-UNB
