Dhaka, 1 Jan - The deadline for listing names of individuals who were martyred or injured during the July uprising has been extended. A public notice issued today confirmed that applications for inclusion in the official records can now be submitted until January 31, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Special Cell for Mass Uprising Affairs under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with Additional Secretary Khandaker Zahidul Islam signing the notice. According to the release, this extension aims to accommodate those who may have been overlooked in the previously published list of victims.

The final list of martyrs and injured individuals from the uprising was recently published on the official DGHS website (https://medical-info.dghs.gov.bd/public). However, individuals who suffered injuries or lost their lives due to attacks during the movement and were not included in this list are encouraged to apply for recognition.

Applicants need to present supporting documentation, such as national identification or birth registration certificates, proof of residency, contact details, and evidence of medical treatment during the uprising. Applications must be submitted to the designated offices, including the Deputy Commissioner, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, or the Special Cell for Mass Uprising Affairs.
