In a heartfelt message today, Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus urged the nation to draw inspiration from the ideals of Michael Madhusudan Dutt, the iconic Bengali poet and the father of the Bengali sonnet, in the pursuit of nation-building. He called on all citizens to channel the poet's passion for patriotism and dedicate themselves to the country’s progress.

"I urge everyone to embrace the great poet’s ideals of patriotism and immerse ourselves in the work of nation-building," Yunus emphasized, as the nation prepares to mark the 201st birth anniversary of Madhusudan Dutt tomorrow.

Professor Yunus reflected on the poet's deep love for both his homeland and mother tongue, qualities that permeated his works despite his long stay abroad. "His devotion to his country and language is evident in his writings, which continue to inspire us," the Chief Adviser remarked.

On the eve of the poet's anniversary, Yunus paid tribute to Madhusudan Dutt’s enduring legacy on behalf of the Bengali-speaking community. "We honor his memory and celebrate his contributions to our culture," he said, wishing success to all the events planned for the poet’s birth anniversary.

In his message, Yunus also welcomed the 'Madhusudan Janma Utsab' and 'Madhumela 2025' celebrations, a seven-day festival to be held in the poet's birthplace at Sagardari in Jashore district. Organized by the Jashore District Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the initiative is set to commemorate the poet's life and legacy.

Born on January 25, 1824, Madhusudan Dutt is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Bengali literature. His pioneering works spanned epics, sonnets, dramas, and farces, securing his place as a literary giant. His innovative approach to writing brought a new wave of modernity to Bengali literature, which continues to inspire generations of poets and writers.

Professor Yunus concluded by highlighting how the modern literary techniques introduced by Dutt have shaped the course of Bengali literature, guiding subsequent generations of writers and poets. "His contributions remain a beacon of progress for us all," he said.
