Families of those killed in the July uprising staged a demonstration at Shahbagh on Tuesday, blocking the busy intersection to demand justice and official government recognition.

Protesting under the banner of the July 24 Shaheed Family, they called for accountability for the killings, proper medical treatment for the injured, and formal acknowledgment from the authorities.

The blockade brought traffic to a complete halt, causing major disruptions, particularly for commuters heading to nearby hospitals.

This is not the first time the victims’ families have taken to the streets. On February 2, those receiving treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) held a similar protest, blocking Mirpur Road with the same demands.

A photographer at the scene reported that traffic remained at a standstill throughout the demonstration.
