Following the meeting, General Waker-Uz-Zaman toured various BMTF facilities, according to an ISPR release.
BMTF Managing Director Major General Md Naheed Asgar briefed the Chief of Army Staff on the factory's progress in production, its contribution to national industry, and its pivotal role in supporting Bangladesh’s defense sector.
During the visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the importance of adopting state-of-the-art machinery and innovative production methods to achieve self-reliance in manufacturing both industrial goods and defense equipment. He commended BMTF's ongoing efforts to enhance local production capabilities, maintain high standards, and contribute to the nation’s economic and technological growth.
The Chief of Army Staff also stressed the need for closer collaboration between the military and industrial sectors to ensure sustainable development.
BMTF's subsidiary, Army Pharma Limited, has been producing high-quality medicines and cosmetics at affordable prices, benefiting marginalized communities across the country.
Also present at the visit were Quarter Master General of the Army and BMTF Vice-Chairman Lt. Gen. Mohammad Faizur Rahman, along with senior military officers.
