CA to Lead 'Jatiya Oaikymoto Commission' Starting Saturday

The government has established a seven-member 'Jatiya Oaikymoto Commission' under the leadership of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. The commission is tasked with reviewing and adopting the recommendations from six previous reform commissions.
A notification detailing the formation of the commission was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday.
In addition to Professor Yunus, the commission’s members include:
- Prof. Ali Riaz, Chair of the Constitutional Reform Commission
- Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Head of the Public Administration Reform Commission
- Safar Raj Hossain, Head of the Police Reform Commission
- Badiul Alam Majumder, Head of the Election Reform Commission
- Justice Emdadul Haque, Head of the Judiciary Reform Commission
- Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Head of the Anti-Corruption Reform Commission
The commission will officially begin its work on February 15, with a six-month mandate to forge national consensus on key reforms. These reforms focus on the election system, public administration, judiciary, anti-corruption measures, and police activities.
In the coming months, the commission will engage in discussions with political parties and other stakeholders to incorporate these reforms into a comprehensive national plan.
The office of the Chief Adviser will provide secretarial support to the commission, as outlined in the notification.
