Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the country and Muslims around the world on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

“I extend my sincere greetings and Eid Mubarak to the people of the country and all Muslims around the world on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr,” he said in a message on the eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Describing the Eid-ul-Fitr as one of the two biggest religious festivals of Muslims, the premier said, “Eid-ul-Fitr comes with the messages of joy, peace, harmony and brotherhood in our life after a month of fasting and restraint”.

Highlighting the significance of Ramadan, he said the holy month of Ramadan teaches restraint, sacrifice, service and self-purification.

“This month-long practice helps us become self-restrained and teaches us to feel the pain of others. These values foster empathy and mutual cooperation in society,” said Tarique Rahman, also ruling BNP chairman.

He emphasised that the true significance of the Eid lies in reflecting the teachings of Ramadan in individual, family, social and state life.

The premier said Eid calls for strengthening bonds of mutual love and brotherhood, forgetting all differences between rich and poor, and young and old, reports BSS.

“On this joyful day, we should stand beside the helpless, poor and underprivileged people of the society and share the happiness of Eid with all- let this be our commitment,” he said.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the holy Eid-ul-Fitr would further strengthen “the bond of our national unity, mutual harmony and compassion”.

“Let’s be inspired by the ideals of Eid and work together to build a humane, developed, peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh,” he added.

Concluding his message, Tarique Rahman prayed to Almighty Allah, saying, “May He bestow the joy, mercy and blessings of Eid-ul-Fitr upon all of us. May the Almighty Allah guide our country and nation towards peace, progress and prosperity, and ensure the welfare of the entire Muslim Ummah”.
