Patuakhali: Journalists formed a human chain in Kuakata to protest the killing of Golam Rabbani Nadeem, the Jamalpur correspondent of 71TV and Bangla News and to demand the hanging of those involved in the incident.

On Monday (June 19) at 10 am, Kuakata Press Club organized a human chain program on Dhaka-Kuakata highway. After the human chain, a discussion meeting was organized in the press club under the chairmanship of Anwar Hossain Anu. Kuakata Television Journalist

Forum, Bangladesh Mofossol Journalist Forum Mahipur unit participated in this human chain and discussion meeting.

Basirullah along with local media workers gave a speech.

The speakers said that all those directly and indirectly involved in this brutal murder should be brought under the law and exemplary punishment should be ensured and those who have already been arrested, they demanded speedy punishment. At that time, they mentioned the

killing of journalist Nadeem as a threat to the media.

It is to be noted that 10 to 12 miscreants bearing with armed and weapons beat up Nadeem and fled after reaching Pathati junction in Bakshiganj on his way back home last Wednesday (June 14). In this situation, he was first taken to Upazila Health Complex. Later he was admitted to Jamalpur General Hospital. He was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning as his condition was critical. He died there around 2:30 pm while undergoing treatment. - Gofran Biswas Palash
