Kenya reach semifinals of Bangabandhu Cup Int'l Kabaddi tournament

Dhaka, 31 May-The two-time runners-up Kenya confirmed their spot of semifinals in the fourth edition of Bangabandhu Cup 2024 International Kabaddi Tournament beating Thailand by 33-32 points with a lona held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium on Friday.

The winners' led the first half by 20-16 points.

It was the most exciting match of the tournament till date. The Kabaddi fans cheered for their favourite teams throughout the match as their chants echoed from corner to corner.

Kenyan raider Samuel Wanjala Wafula who scored 12 alone won the man of the match award for his impressive performance.

With the day's victory, Kenya had eight points from four matches while Thailand have six points from four matches and they must win in their last group match against Iraq.

Earlier on Thursday last, Bangladesh and Nepal from Group-A reached the semifinals while Kenya was the first team to confirm semis from Group-B.
