Uganda tastes first win in Bangabandhu Int'l Kabaddi Tournament

Dhaka, 31 May -Uganda finally registered their first win in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament beating Japan by 41-36 points with one lona held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

Japan, who led the first half by 20-16, failed to keep the tempo in the remaining proceeding and eventually lost the game.

Shafic Katamba, who collected 12 points beside his name, was named the player of the match for his impressive performance.

Both Uganda and Japan were eliminated from the tournament after losing their respective previous group matches however, the day's win brought some relief to Uganda after repeated failure in the group matches.
