Five-member JS panel of chairmen nominated

Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, today nominated a five-member panel of chairmen for the third session of the 13th parliament.


The nomination was made in accordance with Section 12(1) of the Rules of Procedure of the Jatiya Sangsad.

The panel members are Gayeswar Chandra Roy, MP from Dhaka-3; Sarwar Jamal Nizam, MP from Chattogram-13; Barrister Nawshad Zamir, MP from Panchagarh-1; Niluphar Chowdhury Moni, MP from Women's Seat-10; and Mujibur Rahman, MP from Rajshahi-1.

According to the rules, the panel members will preside over JS sittings in order of seniority in the absence of both the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, reports BSS.
