Ali Akbar Khan made acting CID chief

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Md Ali Akbar Khan has been made acting chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).


The Police Headquarters issued a notification in this regard on Monday.

Ali Akbar Khan, a member of the 15th BCS (Police) cadre batch, joined Bangladesh Police in 1995.

Throughout his long and distinguished career, he has served in various key units of Bangladesh Police, including range police, Police Headquarters, and the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, earning recognition for his professionalism, efficiency and integrity.

To enhance his professional skills, Ali Akbar Khan has participated in several training courses, seminars and workshops at home and abroad.

He took part in many international workshops, including “Promoting Regular and Legal Migration, Preventing Human Trafficking, Discouraging Irregular Migration and Repatriating Irregular Migrants” and “Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants (TIP/SOM) Data Collecting for South Asia” in Italy and the Maldives, respectively.

Ali Akbar Khan also took part in several other international training programmes, further strengthening his professional knowledge and expertise, reports UNB.
