Police have arrested 47 people in a series of special operations across four police stations jurisdictions as part of an ongoing drive against crime.

According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), officers from Uttara West, Turag, Banshal and Jatrabari police stations conducted coordinated raids on Saturday in areas identified as crime hotspots.

The largest number of arrests was made in Uttara West, where police detained 15 people.

Turag police arrested 11 suspects, while Banshal police detained seven.

In a separate operation, Jatrabari police arrested 14 people.

Police said those arrested include suspects wanted in pending cases, individuals named in arrest warrants and others allegedly involved in a range of criminal activities.

The DMP said such operations would continue as part of efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities across the capital, reports BSS.
