447 held in 24-hour anti-crime drive across capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 447 people and filed 58 cases during its regular anti-crime operations across the capital in the past 24 hours.


According to a DMP press release, the arrests were made by different divisions of the metropolitan police.

Of the arrested, 27 were from Ramna Division, 47 from Lalbagh, 56 from Wari, 67 from Motijheel, 70 from Tejgaon, 101 from Mirpur, 29 from Gulshan, 47 from Uttara and three from the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, police recovered two machetes, three knives, 51.5 kilograms of cannabis, 1,000 yaba tablets, 51 packets of heroin, 19 bottles of phensedyl, Tk 16,200 in cash and two mobile phones.

The arrests and seizures were made during raids conducted in different police station areas across the capital.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, reports BSS.
