Elderly couple found dead in locked house

Police on Saturday morning recovered the bodies of a elderly man and his wife from a locked house in Chuadanga's Alamdanga municipality.



Police on Saturday morning recovered the bodies of a elderly man and his wife from a locked house in Chuadanga's Alamdanga municipality.
Deceased Najir Uddin, 70, and his wife Farida Khatun, 60, were the residents of Puraton Bazarpara area.
It was learnt that as the couple had not receive their phone since Friday, their son-in-law came to their house this morning and found the house locked from inside. He then informed the matter to police.
Later, police and Fire Service men recovered the bodies of the couple with their hands and legs tied up, breaking open the door.
Alamdanga Police Station OC Saiful Islam said a machete was found beside the bodies. There were several injury marks were found on the man's body.
