Natore, Nov 20 -Two cases were filed against 25 BNP activists  in connection with the recovery of five crude bombs and two bomb-like objects from beside the party office early Sunday.

Lalpur police station’s sub-inspector Himadri Haldar and local Jubo League activist Shariful Newaz filed the cases under the Explosive Substances Act against the BNP men including municipality unit BNP convener Nazrul Islam Mollah.

According to the cases’ statements, miscreants hurled crude bombs targeting Jubo League men from in front of the BNP office around 8.45pm on Saturday.

Sharif Al Rajib, additional superintendent of police (Lalpur circle) of the district, said they later recovered five crude bombs  and two bomb-like objects from beside the office. Later police sealed the office.

Earlier on November 15 night, some activists of  ruling Awami League allegedly vandalised the party office when a meeting led by the accused Nazrul Islam was being held there.

Monowaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Lalpur police station, said no one has yet been arrested in this connection. - UNB
