Charge framed against Talukder Dulu in tax-evasion case

A Dhaka court today framed charges against Central Organizing Secretary of BNP Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu in a tax-evasion case filed by the National Board of Revenue (NBR). 

Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-2 of Dhaka framed the charges against him and fixed May 14 for next hearing.

According to the case docket, Talukder Dulu evaded tax of Taka 10 lakh imposed on his income of about Tk 2.35 crore from 1983. 

On August 3, 2008, Assistant Tax Commissioner of the NBR Hafiz Al Asad filed the case against him.

He was accused of giving false information about his income and concealing expenditure to the Income Tax Department. - Special Correspondent
