New IGP Mainul Islam takes charge

Newly Appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam today took over charge of the office, said an official release.

Prior to the joining as IGP, Islam was commandant of Dhaka traffic and driving school, as the Additional IGP, the release of the Police Headquarters said this morning.
Earlier, the government appointed him as IGP through a gazette notification issued from the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on August 6, reports BSS.
The notification said the order will come into effect immediately.
