The government has elevated 73 police officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

Of these, 10 received direct promotions, while 63 were granted supernumerary promotions, meaning they will continue performing their current roles and duties post-promotion.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate circulars, signed by Deputy Secretary Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, detailing the promotions.
The notification states that the officials will be given conceptual seniority, with the order taking effect upon their assumption of the new rank.
