These new allegations bring the total number of cases against Hasina to at least 49, including 40 related to murder, seven concerning crimes against humanity and genocide, one for abduction, and one for an attack on a BNP procession.
In Dhaka, Hasina and 46 others face charges related to the death of street hawker Shahabul Islam Shaon during protests in Ashulia on August 4. Advocate Hannan Bhuiyan filed the case with Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Arifa Chowdhury Himel, who recorded the statement and instructed the Ashulia Police Station to register it as a first information report (FIR).
Another case in Dhaka was filed by Zakiullah Bahar, 56, of Uttara Paschim, against Hasina and 32 others for the death of 12th-grader Abdullah Bin Jahid at the Airport area on August 5. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam recorded the complaint and directed the Airport Police Station to register it as an FIR.
Rabiul Khan Hillol, a resident of Mohammadpur, also filed a case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury over the killing of Shahriar Hossain Rokon, 23, in Mohammadpur on July 19. The magistrate instructed the Mohammadpur Police Station to register this case as an FIR.
In Narsingdi, a murder case was filed against Hasina and 81 others related to the killing of businessman Azizul Islam during the anti-discrimination student movement on July 19. Azizul's father, Almach Mia, filed the complaint with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court, which has directed the Narsingdi Police Station to register it as an FIR.
In Bogura, a case was filed accusing Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and 76 others over the abduction and killing of union-level BNP leader Shah Alam Sujan in Shibganj upazila in 2018. Advocate Abdul Wahab, the general secretary of the upazila unit BNP, filed the case with a Bogura court, which has directed the Shibganj Police Station to register it as an FIR.
