The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has arrested Imtiaz Selim, 42, identified as the "media coordinator" for the banned militant group Hizb-ut-Tahrir. He was taken into custody early Friday in the Bashundhara Residential Area, as confirmed by DMP Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

Authorities are in the process of presenting Selim before a Dhaka court. He faces serious charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act in a case filed at the Shahbagh police station, alongside two additional cases registered at the Pallabi and Khilgaon police stations.

Moreover, Selim is currently on trial for three other criminal cases, highlighting the ongoing scrutiny of his activities.
