The body of renowned singer Moni Kishore was discovered in his home in Rampura, Dhaka, on the night of October 19.

According to Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station, "Moni was renting a property behind the BTV building, and police recovered his body around 10:30 PM."
Rahman explained that Moni lived alone and that the door was locked from the inside. The landlord, concerned about unpaid rent, rang the doorbell multiple times without receiving a response. "A foul odor emanating from the house raised his suspicions," he said.

The landlord then called the national emergency service number 999. Upon receiving the report, police arrived, forced open the door, and discovered the body, which had begun to decompose.

"It appears he may have died several days ago. We will determine the exact time and cause of death following an autopsy," Rahman stated.

Moni Kishore last released an album nearly a decade ago but continued to make occasional appearances on radio and television and participated in stage performances sporadically. Before his music career, he was involved in the clothing business, which he maintained alongside his musical pursuits.

Throughout his career, Moni Kishore recorded over five hundred songs, with notable tracks including "Ki Chile Amar Bolona Tumi," "Ami More Gele," "Phool Jhore Tara Jhore," "Mukhe Bolo Valobashi," and "Ami Gharer Khoje."
