The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all forms of rallies, processions, demonstrations, and public gatherings in key areas surrounding the Chief Adviser’s residence and the Secretariat.

According to a public notification issued by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the ban is effective from Monday and will remain in force until further notice. The restricted zones include the Secretariat premises, the Chief Adviser’s residence, and adjacent areas such as Hotel Intercontinental, Kakrail Mosque intersection, Mintu Road, and the Officers’ Club.

The directive has been enforced under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III of 1976), citing the need to ensure the Chief Adviser’s security and maintain public order in the context of the current situation.

The DMP urged all concerned to comply with the restriction and avoid any activities that could disrupt law and order in these sensitive areas.
