Kidnapped girl from Sylhet rescued in Barolekha; 2 arrested

Sylhet, June 25 - A girl kidnapped from Sylhet and missing for ten days has been rescued from Barolekha. Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, according to police.

The arrested are Tuhin Ahmed (25) and Tofail Ahmed (26), both sons of the late Abdul Qayyum of Guchchagram Bahubal under Shahparan Police Station, conformed Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Saiful Islam.

On Monday (June 23), after conducting a raid based on a secret information, Tofail was arrested from the Surma Bypass area, and then the police conducted a raid with him and rescued the kidnapped girl from the Panidhar area of Barolekha in Moulvibazar and arrested Tuhin Ahmed.

Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Saiful Islam said that Tofail and Tuhin were handed over to the court on Tuesday.

The girl was kidnapped on her way to school at 9:30 am on June 14. - UNB
