Three children who went missing while returning home from their relative's place in Lakshmipur on Tuesday, have been reunited with their families, police said on Wednesday.

The girls have been identified as Sumaiya Akter, 11, Ria Akter, 10, and Taslima Akter, 7, all residents of Lakshmipur. Police said they were tracked down in the port city, reports UNB.

“The three girls got on a Chattogram-bound bus by mistake while returning home from their aunt’s house on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr,” said Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah police station in Chattogram.

"Our men took custody of the girls as they started crying after getting down from the bus in the AK Khan area of the city. Later they were reunited with their families," the OC added.
