43 more AL leaders, activists held for creating anarchy in city

Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested 43 more leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organizations from different parts of capital city for their suspected link to create anarchy and bring out sudden processions. 


Deputy Commissioner of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests. 

DB officials said the arrests were made from different areas of Dhaka on charges of involvement in subversive and anti-state activities aimed at disrupting law and order in last 24hrs.

The drives were conducted based on specific intelligence information, and further drives are underway to apprehend others linked to the banned political organization and its front bodies.

Law enforcement agencies have tightened surveillance in different parts of the city to prevent any unrest and to ensure public safety.

However, in two separate raids one was arrested with two crude bombs from the capital's Mirpur-14 area and a teen suspect was apprehended from Dhanmondi-32 area today, reports BSS.
