Ahsan Habib takes charge as 12th DG of RAB

Additional IGP Md. Ahsan Habib Palash has assumed charge as the 12th Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today.


A member of the 15th BCS (Police) batch, Palash joined the Bangladesh Police in 1995 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and received his basic training at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi.

During his distinguished career, he served in several important units including APBN, DMP, CMP, SMP, and in districts such as Rangamati, Shariatpur, and Narayanganj. 

He also played significant roles in administrative and investigative functions at the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Headquarters and later served as Range DIG in Chittagong.

Palash has international experience as well, having served in UN peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Liberia, Sudan, and South Sudan, reports BSS. 

In recognition of his contributions to policing, he was awarded the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Service).

He holds BSS (Hons) and MSc degrees from the University of Dhaka and has received professional training in the USA, UK, Australia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
