The mother and brother of Abdullah Bin Jahid, a martyr of the July Mass Uprising, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today at his office in Sangsad Bhaban (JS).
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday assured a government job to Fatema Tuz Johora, the mother of July Mass Uprising martyr Abdullah Bin Jahid, during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Fatema met the Prime Minister along with her younger son, Mahmudullah Bin Jisan, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister enquired about Jisan's health and assured Fatema of employment to help support the family, according to Deputy Press Secretary Md Suzauddhowla Sujon Mahmud.
Agriculturist Md Moksedul Momin (Mithun), member secretary of Amra BNP Poribar, was also present.
Abdullah Bin Jahid was killed after being shot during the July Mass Uprising on August 5, 2024.
Just two weeks after his death, Fatema's younger son, Jisan, was diagnosed with cancer. Seven months later, the family suffered another tragedy with the death of Fatema's husband.
Left without her husband and eldest son, Fatema faced severe financial hardship while trying to continue Jisan's medical treatment.
According to the Deputy Press Secretary, Tarique Rahman, while serving as BNP acting chairman, stepped in to support the family by arranging assistance for Jisan's treatment.
Since then, Jisan's treatment has been coordinated under the supervision of Atikur Rahman Ruman, who was then convener of Amra BNP Poribar and now serves as the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary.
The Prime Minister has continued to monitor Jisan's treatment and remained informed about his condition through regular updates, ensuring that the family's medical support has continued.
