Rizvi labels Sheikh Hasina ‘worst fascist in history’

"Cruel fascists and Nazis across the world maintained power through force, but there is a fundamental difference between them and Sheikh Hasina," he observed.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after visiting a photo exhibition on the July Mass Uprising and the political movements of the past 17 years at Gulshan. 

He said, "Fascists like Hitler and Mussolini killed millions of people through ethnic cleansing or racial persecution. However, they attempted to make their own nations the greatest and most powerful in the world."

“Unlike Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini, Sheikh Hasina was involved in money laundering, bank looting, stock market plundering, and seizure of government land illegally,” Rizvi explained.

According to Rizvi, although Hitler and Mussolini were "terrible killers and fascists," they still had love for their own countries. In contrast, Sheikh Hasina's primary agenda was to loot the entire nation to establish her relatives abroad. For this reason, I consider her the most despicable fascist in history," he said.

Rizvi alleged that the Awami League government was involved in bank fraud, stock market irregularities, and state property looting.

The senior BNP leader further claimed that the Awami League used force and electoral manipulation to retain power. 

He also alleged that people from various professions—including students, journalists, restaurant workers, and shop employees—were killed during political movements between 2009 and August 5, 2024.

Describing the July Mass Uprising as "a massive awakening" and "a nuclear explosion of the people's innate strength" against oppression, he said adding Sheikh Hasina failed to realize the power of the people and repeatedly sought to remain in office through what he described as farcical elections.

He also claimed that almost no countries in the world supported her government, alleging that it continued to hold onto power by force, reports BSS.

Rizvi said people from all walks of life had fought to uphold democratic values, including democracy, freedom of expression, press freedom, and independent judiciary. In future they would not also hesitate to join such struggle if required, he said.
