BNP moves to sue 20 AL leaders, activists

A BNP leader filed an application to lodge a case against 20 named and 400-500 unnamed leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League .



A BNP leader filed an application to lodge a case against 20 named and 400-500 unnamed leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League over the clashes in Mirpur on September 15.
Former secretary of Dhaka Bar Association Omar Faruq Faruqi submitted the application to the Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Judge Tofazzal Hossain on Tuesday (September 20).
After recording the plaintiff’s statement, the court said it will give an order later in the day, BNP’s lawyer Advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder said.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Dhaka lawmaker Md Elias Uddin Mollah and Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil are among those who have been made accused in the case.
Earlier, on September 15, the BNP men locked into the series of clashes with Awami League men over holding a scheduled rally in Dhaka’s Mirpur.
