Mirza Fakhrul’s statement equivalent to attack on media: Information Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud said on Sunday the statement by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that 'propaganda is being carried out in the country using the media' is equivalent to an attack on the media.

"Mirza Fakhrul's statement is an attack on the media. I don't think this attack is reasonable. Fakhrul made such a statement  out of great frustration", he said. 

The minister came up with the remarks while exchanging Eid greetings with reporters at his Dewanji Pukur Lane residence in the port city of Chattogram, reports UNB. 

The way eid journey has taken place in Bangladesh today, the way people celebrated Eid with relief, this is really an example amid ongoing global recession, the minister said.
