Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, announced the third phase blockade.

A fresh 48-hour blockade across Bangladesh called by Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its allies in the ongoing movement began Wednesday morning (November 7).

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, announced the third phase blockade on Tuesday morning (November 7). According to the announcement, the blockade program will continue from 6 am on Wednesday to 6 am on Friday

The BNP observes November 7 as ‘national revolution and solidarity day’. However, they suspended its program of the day in protest against the government's repression and widespread arrest of the opposition leaders and activists.

This is the third spell of blockade programmes enforced by the opposition parties following the police and ruling party attacks on the BNP’s October 28 Dhaka grand rally.
