The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is organizing a major rally on Tuesday to mark the International Day of Democracy, with events set to take place in front of its central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, and across divisional headquarters nationwide.

Tarique Rahman, the BNP Acting Chairman, will address the Dhaka rally virtually from London, delivering a key message on his vision for the upcoming general election and his plans for a more equitable Bangladesh.

Dr. Zahid Hossain, a standing committee member and coordinator of the rally preparation committee, announced the details at a press conference on Monday. The Dhaka rally is scheduled for 2:30 pm in front of the party headquarters. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will chair the event, with contributions from top party leaders, including standing committee members.

There is a possibility that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving medical treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, may also address the rally.

This event is anticipated to be one of the largest BNP rallies in recent times, as Tarique Rahman prepares to present new plans to the nation. Central BNP leaders, including standing committee members and vice chairpersons, will also participate in rallies across other divisional headquarters.

In addition to the rallies, processions will follow brief events in divisional cities as the BNP aims to demonstrate its organizational strength and broad support through these gatherings.

This rally represents the BNP’s second major event since the departure of Sheikh Hasina’s government, reflecting the party’s ongoing efforts to mobilize its base. Leaders, activists, and supporters from Dhaka and nearby districts—such as Narayanganj, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Manikganj, and Narsingdi—are expected to attend.

Extensive preparations by the BNP’s Dhaka north and city units, along with its affiliated organizations, aim to ensure the success of the rally.
