Prof Muhammad Yunus
Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh and Nobel Laureate, will deliver the inaugural address, setting the stage for three days of impactful discussions, said Zillur Rahman, Executive Director of CGS, during a press briefing on Friday.
"This year’s conference, titled A Fractured World, is the largest yet, bringing together over 200 speakers, 300 delegates, and 800 participants from more than 80 countries," Rahman noted. He emphasized that the event will explore global challenges such as human rights, climate change, economic development, security, and technological transformation.
Rahman described the conference as a "call to action," aiming to bridge divides and foster collaboration. "Bangladesh stands at a unique crossroads," he said, highlighting the nation’s growing openness to dialogue and democratic principles.
Munira Khan, Chair of CGS, added that the event is non-political and focused on addressing global issues for the benefit of people worldwide, not any particular political party. "The outcomes will resonate beyond borders," she said.
Reflecting on the challenges of the past two years, Rahman expressed optimism for the success of this year's event, citing CGS’s resilience in overcoming previous hurdles.
