Rizvi Accuses India, Anti-Liberation Parties of Exploiting Crisis

BNP senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday accused both India and certain domestic political parties, including those that opposed Bangladesh's 1971 Liberation War, of trying to exploit the current political situation for their own gain.
“Not only a neighboring country is spreading propaganda to stigmatize the BNP, but also a few local parties are trying to create chaos to further their own political interests,” Rizvi said after paying homage to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
Speaking to reporters after placing wreaths at Zia's grave, Rizvi, joined by leaders and workers of Jatiyatabadi Rickshaw-Van-Auto Sramik Dal, urged all democratic forces to unite. He criticized some parties for attempting to divide these forces for selfish gains.
Rizvi also responded to remarks by Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, who had referred to a party of "extortionists." He remarked, “We understand who you are talking about. After August 5, we witnessed how you took control of Islamic banks.”
He further emphasized that the people of Bangladesh are well aware of which party has links to violence and betrayal, accusing his opponents of opposing the Liberation War and collaborating with Ershad and Sheikh Hasina in 1986.
