Mahfuz Alam, Adviser to the Interim Government, has emphasized that power will be transferred through a democratic process following the completion of essential reforms.

Speaking at a reception held at the Ramganj Upazila Government College ground today, Alam reaffirmed the government’s commitment to democratic principles.

Dismissing any possibility of military rule, he asserted, “We are not subordinates to anyone; we ousted Hasina from power independently, with the support of students and the people.” He continued, “We will not bow to anyone again. There is no reason to fear the events of 1/11,” referring to the 2007 political crisis, and called on all pro-Bangladesh political parties to back the government’s efforts for vital reforms.

Alam added, "Our goal is not merely to remove the Awami League's fascist regime, but to hold accountable those responsible for the regime's oppressive practices in administration, education, and cultural spheres.” He further declared, “We will honor the legacy of the martyrs by ensuring justice is served and by realizing their aspirations.”

The adviser emphasized that the government intends to carry out the necessary reforms in consultation and consensus with all political parties.

The event was presided over by Prof. Didarul Islam, Principal of the college. Following the reception, Mahfuz Alam met with government officials at the Upazila auditorium to discuss ongoing reforms.
