BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed emphasized that the government should prioritize essential tasks in addition to ongoing reforms, calling for a balanced approach. He stated that while the interim government is addressing some reforms, attention must also be given to critical issues affecting the public.

Rizvi made these remarks as the chief guest at a program on Sunday evening, marking the 89th birth anniversary of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the 12th anniversary of the Zia Memorial Library.

He stressed that the interim government's chief adviser must not only focus on reforms like police reform but also work to control the rising prices of essentials. He further highlighted the need to ensure judicial independence for the greater welfare of the people.

Criticizing the rule of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Rizvi likened her regime to that of Pharaoh, accusing her government of suppressing the freedom of the people over the past 16 years. He claimed that under her leadership, the police used excessive force against peaceful protests and were involved in activities like enforced disappearances. He also condemned the state of education and democracy, which, he argued, had been severely undermined in the last decade and a half.

The event also featured speeches from BNP Chairperson's advisor and Manikganj district BNP President Afroza Khan Rita, Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, and district BNP General Secretary S.A. Kabir Jinnah.
