Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced today that the BNP would welcome a new political party formed by students, as they seek to enter the political arena.

"Students will form a new political party with fresh ideas, and we will welcome them," Fakhrul said. "However, if this party is created while remaining within the government's influence, the people will not accept it."

Fakhrul made these remarks during a Doa Mahfil in Dhaka's Uttara Sector-13, where he was the chief guest at an event praying for the swift recovery of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The event was organized by Dhaka City North BNP Joint Convener Afaz Uddin Afaz, who also distributed gifts to the underprivileged in the name of Khaleda Zia’s recovery.

The BNP leader further expressed support for the students, saying, "We will work together to ensure a free and fair election." He also urged them to avoid unnecessary conflict in politics, adding, "It's better not to engage in derogatory remarks."

Fakhrul reiterated the BNP's goal of restoring democracy in the country, criticizing the current government for undermining the nation’s economy, judicial system, and administration. He also referred to the current government as "interim" and called for reforms to ensure a fair election process, where the people can choose their leaders freely.

Several BNP leaders, including Dhaka City North BNP Convener Md. Aminul Haque and Senior Joint Convener Mostafizur Rahman Segun, were also present at the event.
