BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday called on the government to organize the national election immediately to counter what he described as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's "dangerous plan."

"Sheikh Hasina is harboring a dangerous plot. The national election must take place soon to thwart this conspiracy," Rizvi stated.

He made the remarks after paying tribute to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, placing a wreath at his grave alongside party leaders and activists from various districts.

Rizvi accused the Yunus government of delaying the election and claimed that the nation is anxiously awaiting a free, fair, and neutral election.

He also criticized the push by several political parties to hold local government elections before the national election, calling it an act driven by ill motives.

The BNP leader stressed that a final deadline must be set for elections to restore democracy, for which many lives have been sacrificed. He also emphasized that necessary reforms should be completed swiftly before the elections.
