“By carrying out massacres through political decisions, indifference is no longer an option. The current government must uphold the rule of law and remove those in the advisory council with fascist interests,” he declared at a rally in Feni on Sunday.
In response to concerns over inflation ahead of Ramadan, Salahuddin urged the authorities to ensure the availability of essential commodities in the market to stabilize prices.
"People are more focused on managing their households than discussing reforms. Instead of debating reforms, focus on controlling the market," he emphasized.
Regarding the upcoming national election, Salahuddin demanded that it be held in December without delay. "Start implementing election-related reforms now and ensure timely elections. We must question the motives of those seeking to postpone the elections under the pretext of local government elections," he added.
Salahuddin also referred to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina as a "UN-recognized killer" during his address.
The mass rally, organized by the BNP at Mizan Maidan in Feni, was part of the party’s central program to protest rising commodity prices, demand improved law and order, seek justice for the "fallen autocrat," and push for a roadmap to restore democracy through timely elections.
The rally was presided over by Sheikh Farid Bahar, BNP convenor of Feni district, with Salahuddin Ahmed attending as the chief guest and BNP’s Chattogram Divisional Organising Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim as the keynote speaker.
