Tarique warned of a resurgence of autocratic forces and highlighted that conspirators are still active, plotting under various pretexts. "We cannot let them succeed," he declared.
While acknowledging differences of opinion within the party, he emphasized that dialogue is the key to resolving issues. "We will sit together, discuss, and if necessary, continue until we find solutions," he said.
Tarique reaffirmed BNP’s commitment to rebuilding the country, pointing to the party’s 31-point outline for state reform, covering sectors like education, employment, healthcare, and agriculture. "Our primary goal is to restore the collapsed state structure and rebuild Bangladesh," he added.
He criticized those now advocating for reforms, stating that BNP was the only party that had faced dictatorship, discussed reforms, and presented a concrete 31-point plan. "Others were absent when the anti-dictatorship movement took place. Only BNP fought for democracy," he remarked.
Tarique also accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of using violence and repression to cling to power, recalling how BNP and other parties faced suppression during her autocratic rule.
He reiterated that if BNP returns to power through a fair election, rebuilding the country would be its top priority. Tarique also reassured the public that any party leaders involved in unlawful activities have already faced action, dismissing propaganda against BNP as misleading.
Finally, he stressed the need for a credible and transparent national election, emphasizing the importance of aligning the country’s future with the hopes and aspirations of the people.
