President Donald Trump recently criticized a USAID project in Bangladesh, claiming that a firm with just two employees received $29 million to strengthen the country’s political landscape.

"Can you imagine a small firm, with only two people, receiving $29 million from the US government?" Trump said during a meeting with US governors at the White House on Friday. "They must be very happy, very rich now," he added, questioning the allocation of funds.

Trump also highlighted several other USAID projects, including a $21 million initiative in India to boost voter turnout, which he criticized, saying, "We're giving $21 million for voter turnout in India. What about voter turnout here in the US?"

The President's comments followed a discussion on various USAID projects, which are being re-evaluated and cut under recommendations from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk. Trump suggested the firm in Bangladesh may soon be exposed as "great scammers," further questioning the allocation and oversight of US foreign aid.
