BNP Vice-Chairman and former minister Abdullah Al Noman was laid to rest at his family graveyard in Raozan, Chattogram, on Friday evening. The burial followed his fourth namaz-e-janaza at the Raozan Gohira School ground after Asr prayers.

Earlier, his third namaz-e-janaza was held at the Jamiyatul Falah Mosque ground after Juma prayers, attended by party leaders, activists, and people from all walks of life. Prominent figures at the prayer included BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain, and Jamaat Metropolitan Amir Shahjahan Chowdhury.

On Thursday afternoon, Noman’s body was flown to Chattogram by helicopter. It was then placed at the Kazir Dewri VIP Tower residence, where party leaders, workers, and the public paid their final respects.

Abdullah Al Noman passed away on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. He was 82 years old. He is survived by a son, a daughter, grandchildren, and numerous relatives and well-wishers.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep condolences, praying for the peace of his soul and offering support to his grieving family.

Noman, a long-time leader of the BNP, was first elected as an MP for the Kotwali constituency in Chattogram in 1991. He served as the Fisheries Minister after the 1991 election and later as the Food Minister after his 2001 victory.
