According to a party press release, the leaders highlighted the need to move beyond outdated political practices and dynastic control.
“The youth are disillusioned with old politics and eager for real change. We are committed to bringing about this transformation gradually,” said AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju during the meeting at the French embassy.
The party representatives briefed the ambassador on the vision behind ABP’s formation, its policies, and its goal of creating a welfare-based state. They also discussed the party’s concept of “new generation politics.”
Accompanying Manju were ABP General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, and party leaders Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mili, Barrister Farah Naz Sattar, Hazera Mehjabin, and Farzana Akhter Mitu. French Embassy Political Counselor Christian BEC was also present at the meeting.
The ABP leaders stressed the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties between France and Bangladesh. They advocated for more Bangladeshi students to have the opportunity to study in French institutions to learn about French democracy and governance.
In response to the ambassador’s inquiry about the AB Party’s approach to women’s empowerment, Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mili shared that the party had recently presented progressive proposals to the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission for sustainable change. These proposals were also made public in a recent press briefing.
