Speaking at a rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal on International Women’s Day, Rahman emphasized, "In the July uprising, our youth sacrificed their lives for a new freedom. The fascist government was forced to step down. Yet, why are women still being raped? Why are they harassed on buses and streets? The frequency of mob justice is rising."
The rally took place in front of the BNP central office at Naya Paltan, where over a hundred women from the Mahila Dal, dressed in purple sarees, gathered to voice their concerns.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed also condemned the increasing prevalence of mob violence, while Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal president Afroza Abbas chaired the event. The rally was moderated by General Secretary Sultana Ahmed.
Following the rally, a procession was held, starting from the Nightingale Restaurant intersection in Kakrail, and culminated in front of the Naya Paltan office.
