BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated today that while the nation has gained freedom through significant sacrifices following the removal of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, true democracy has yet to be restored.

Fakhrul made these remarks as the chief guest at an Iftar Mahfil, organized virtually by the Ruhia Thana Swechchhasebak Dal at Ruhia High School in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Fakhrul emphasized the importance of unity within the party, urging members to work together in preparation to regain the people's trust and confidence. He stressed that BNP believes the people are the party's core strength, calling on leaders and workers to reach out to the public as much as possible.

The event also featured speeches from various party leaders, including Dr. Mofidul Alam Khan, vice president of the Rangpur divisional monitoring team, central committee leader Zakir Hossain, district BNP joint general secretary Poygam Ali, and local leaders Masudul Islam and Kamruzzaman.

The event was chaired by Mohammad Belal Hossain, president of the Ruhia Thana Swechchhasebak Dal, and moderated by general secretary Zillur Rahman.
